Big fan of SBC gaming, open source engine recreations/source ports, gaming in general, alternative operating systems, and all things modding.
Trying to post and comment often in an effort to add to Lemmy’s growth.
I think they’re aware of your stash of full Family Guy episodes on Youtube featuring random zooms.
Also doesn’t the RIAA only cover the music industry?
The obscure content thing is an issue I’ve run into especially looking for ~70s era sci-fi or horror movies that are regarded as cult classics or underrated online.
If you are looking for software you might want to look for websites that list open source projects.
I can’t really think of decent mega lists though. The FMHY one does have a lot of simply free things but it is mixed in with a lot of pirated content.
Nice to see the article mention the source port
I wonder what specifically is causing this issue
If anyone wants to give it a try there are several source ports of it so you can play it on an a lot of alternative systems like the PS Vita for example
I feel like there has to be more movies with this premise
They’re also called evaporator coolers. I am not sure if the word swamp refers to it performing a function that might be found around a swamp or how they operate.
Maybe the pool of water at the bottom is referred to as a swamp.
I linked the video but it’s been a while since I watched it. I am not sure if he explains the nomenclature.
Kind of related but here’s a video from Technology Connections if you want to learn more about swamp coolers and why they only work in specific conditions
When you say upgraded do you mean changed to a new device or just updated the OS?
If it’s the former you might be able to extract the app and transfer it and crack it yourself.
Bad title. It was an issue that was patched
Are you trying to import content? I don’t think there’s a way to do that. There might be a way to mass download content posted by a user but I feel like that’s probably it. I don’t even know if there is a tool for doing what I mentioned for Lemmy.
What is it exactly? Some kind of developer mode to bypass the login screen?
I wonder how this will work with local accounts
Kind of reminds me of how I played The Long Dark. I turned all of hazards to minimal and treated it like a walking simulator/exploration game
I mean you aren’t too far off. Honestly I wouldn’t mind it. I would rather have a feature rich simpler looking game than something that’s fancy and shallow.
I’d be more than impressed by something just basically recreates the original Sims experience.
That’s kind of like Tiny Life. It is similar to the Sims but with retro graphics. Lots of people bought it as soon as it hit early access when a lot of core things were missing.
It’s better than blindly scrolling through your dad’s photo library but not by a ton
Some people use Usenet for that kind of thing. I typically stumble across things I have been looking for on other social sites. For example someone makes a post with Adult Swim pilots and specials and other people will add additional material they happen to have. Sometimes it can help to think of what category what you are looking for is under then lurk around there for something like a bundle or a mislabeled version.
Probably not the answer you are looking for but thought I’d mention it
I would say the answer to avoid any of this would be to use homebrew games but I don’t know if ones for harder systems to emulate (GameCube, PS2, etc) would be great for testing handheld emulators
