Its honestly really good now in my experience. Honestly wish people used it instead of Zoom.
Trying to migrate off of stealth for Reddit so I can stop feeling guilty that I’m still technically using reddit

Ive been using Jitsi for screen sharing and calls :p
I’m pretty sure its supposed to be Discord. Discords tagline used to start with “Imagine a place where X” which is why theyre saying “Imagine a matrix client” lol
This looks interesting, and if they can get VC & E2EE it will definitely be something I’ll make the switch to from Matrix. As much as I love Matrix, it feels very messy and uncoordinated.
Did you try Cinny?
If you want Something you can set up and forget, use YUNOHOST, otherwise learn how to use docker containers and pick any server distro. Debian, Fedora Server, Ubuntu Server, MicroOS, hell OpenWrt will all do fine.
People shit on Ubuntu because its owned by a for profit corporation that hosts an app manager that isnt open source on the backend. Not sure why you heard hate for mint, its perfectly fine. As a beginner I’d definitely go for Mint. If you Genuinely want to try but feel like you need someone to hold your hand, I can add you on Matrix (or discord… ugh) if you want a person to reference.
Yeah I suppose that would make more sense. Although using red to indicate least used on a heat-map seems like a poor choice
what are you doing with your caps lock key?
Not really. If I travel towards the city yes, but thats a 30 minute drive so why bother
Thats so cool. I wish I could ride a bus
this is the way
Until then I hope you get the issue solved! Best if luck friend :)
Have you tried OpenWrt? It works like a dream for this kind of stuff + the community is very helpful
Thank you for such a nice response. It’s nice to know that people are still able to be rational and understanding of one another’s situations even if/when their current states in life are different. I hope you have a great rest of your day today. 🙂
I’m glad you make it work but I hope youre aware not everyone is given the same opportunities you are.
You mean you’ve become used to buying better hardware every few years. Some of us are poor and are still kicking a 2012 Thinkpad we got off eBay in high school.
Its self hostable now, and I’m my playing around with the self hosted version it seems fine
