What was this from? I know the reference but can’t place it. I could obviously search for it but, hey, I’m trying to be social here.

I’m pressing X to doubt.
We need to revise that for Lemmy.
“Lemmy: Where men are men, and men are women, and women are men, and I think we’ve got a few women who were born women, and also there’s a whole bunch of new genders as well, and no genders at all, and that’s all cool with most of us.”
It’s a mouthful and might not read well on a t-shirt, but we can workshop it.
Now I’m no American, but something smells FBIish about that address.
ICQ was my first foray into meeting girls online, back when that was a really weird thing to do.
Post a/s/l to pay respects.
Why not both? Yeah, dams cause continued ecological damage and I don’t think we should be building more of them, but let’s leave them in place until they can be replaced with proper renewables.
But yeah, you’re 100% correct that that shit should have been nationalized yesterday. Unfortunately all it takes is a conservative-majority (low-c conservative for an international audience) to re-privatize it and let their buddies buy it at a discount. That seems to be what’s happening globally. I’m starting to think the best way forward for most things related to the common good are the formation of non-profits or worker’s co-ops but that’s a non-starter in something as large-scale as baseline power generation.
Yeah. I don’t want to say I’m disappointed, because that would suck even more for the guy, but I will say I’m a little underwhelmed.
Also, what’s with that insane autoplay video in the article using stock video footage to tell the story? Have we sunk so low?
I was going to make a joke about this costing $6000/hit, then I read this:
Activists have urged Gilead to ensure that people in countries where low- and middle-incomes predominate can get access to lenacapavir. The company has long faced criticism over the price of its HIV medicines. Descovy usage carries a list price of $26,000 a year.
So based on their current HIV medicine, my joke answer was less than half of what it’ll likely actually cost (as you need two hits a year).
What a ridiculous world we live in.
I don’t know if they can thread the needle again but I’ll give the sequel a shot
At least with the premise of the sequel being about a sex-bot it opens the doors for all sorts of different madness.
Yeah. I used to watch a lot of horror/thrillers and most left me underwhelmed. As such, I had low expectations for M3GAN but it left me pleasantly surprised. Definitely campy, but that’s obviously what it was going for.
Now I’m thinking I might have to watch it again this weekend.
I was pleasantly surprised with M3GAN, so I’m looking forward to this. It’s got a different writer/director whose work I’m not familiar with, but looking at her IMDB it seems like a good fit for her.
✓ Okay, boomer.
Throwing a dart at that poster and letting that determine your fate, right?
I actually very recently tried it. I’m sure it’s great but something about the UI or maybe general paradigm switch versus apps like Notion really confused me. It looks great though, so I’m sure I’ll give it another go sometime when I have a bit more time to really learn it. Nonetheless, I appreciate the recommendation!
Type K looks the happiest.
Oh, I didn’t realize it was Make Insane Proclamations Day. In that case, I could become the richest person in the world if everyone else would just give me $1000.
Using the hotline won’t get you fired, but somehow - for totally unrelated reasons - after using it you’ll end up on a PIP with untenable goals, and that will get you fired.
I’m still stuck on Notion. I keep looking for OSS alternatives but nothing I’ve tried has all the features I want.
You’re getting downvoted here, but your anecdotal evidence matches my own. This is how I set my own schedule by choice. I get my “real” work done when I work from home, while the 2 in-office days are mostly spent in meetings, training other staff, and stuff that’s easier to do in person (hardware troubleshooting).
I get that this isn’t the case for everyone though, and many people would be more productive predominantly working from home.
I think this might fall under “cruel and unusual punishment” for his cellmate. Imagine having to live in a tiny room with this blowhard.
