In theory that might be true, but you’re forgetting that your phone can be hacked, remotely even.

Other apps than what?
You can start Firefox without the --no-remote
flag. And it would allow external processes to open links.
If your distro uses NetworkManager (very likely): nm-connection-editor
My Xerox works way better than on osx.
You need the mount point not the device. Probably something like /media/Files
You can still select just those packages out of their repos. Obviously that can get tedious if there are a lot of them. But that’s pretty rare and at that point it’s worth asking, is that software really worth it? Is there a better installation method? Could it live in a cheoot/container?
But that’s not just in the Apt world, any system wide install would behave like that.
sudo chown -R youruser:youruser /path/to/mountpoint
Will make all the files in the path owned by you. Be careful if you have more complex permissions on there they will be lost.
It does not block proper updates. You might be thinking of held packages that’s not the same thing at all. It isn’t hard to figure out what you want to pin, you can just pin a hole third party repository at -1 except the specific package(s) you want to install and then there’s no chance of that repository overriding a package from the distro’s repository.

You know you can prevent that with proper apt pinning right?
I’ve not seen a single ZigBee keypad. Some WiFi ones but that’s trickier to get working without the cloud. There are also no generic ZigBee tuya keypad listed on the Z2M device list, which leads me to believe there isn’t any I have missed.
Ah you just meant “things” not keypads. I was asking specifically about keypads.
Yeah I have a ton of generic tuya ZigBee devices, they work great. So far only real complaint is bulbs that act as repeaters, they really shouldn’t since they can be turned off at the switch.
I have some of the Xfinity keypads, bit of a pain to setup but they work well.
What are the brands to look for in Ali? I’ve never really seen anything.
Whether it be apache2 or nhinx, the root directory is literally one line to change in the config file.
Wait, that was already the case, can’t even view update without one.
I worry that means that someone can connect to my computer directly.
That’s how torrents work. Everytime you’re downloading so.ething you’re connecting to other people’s computers and letting other people connect to yours.
Torrents are P2P. You are downloading from other people who are seeding. If no one seeds, there’s nothing to download. Simple as that. Etiquette dictates you should seed more than you download to ensure the network stays lively.
SSL certs is so easy with let’s encrypt, that really shouldn’t be a blocker.
If you want something easy I think you have your answer with Signal
Marshall conquer and destroy! Exterminate!
I know some people who swear by their tablets… I’d imagine for them having only one device is pretty enticing
Funny you’d mention Lenny, he’s also a bot! A good one though!
