Might just be me, but I don’t like double tap to skip. Findroid has another scrubbing method I’ve not seen anywhere else but I wish it were the standard.

When you drag your finger to the right, it says how far you’re about to skip ahead. The longer your swipe, the further you go. When you release, it scrubs to that timestamp. Same with going backwards.

I find it faster, more accurate, and more versatile. The only thing I don’t like about the Findroid player is the UI timeout is twice as long as I need it to be.

Not sure why people are beating up on @[email protected] for saying his opinion. Different people value different things.

I think I can answer your question though. Buying a console is a plug and play experience. Building a PC is not. Not everyone has the time, the patience, or the technical experience required to purchase compatible components, assemble the machine, and install the various software.

Anyone that’s ever bought a prepared meal has overpaid in comparison to acquiring the ingredients, prepping them, and cooking the dish. It’s worth the price to do so because I sure as hell don’t want to spend time making a bowl of French onion soup.

Your initial comment here was pointing out that a component of a computer build is as expensive as an entire console. Valid point, though it does ignore that the component you had in mind is superior to what Sony’s put into their machine. It’s not really an apples to apples comparison. More like an apple from the grocery compared to picking a basket of apples from an orchard.

You seem to be pointing out that higher performance per dollar is possible with a high end computer. This is correct.

Anivia on the other hand was only saying that for the same money or less as a Playstation 5 Pro, you can get more performance by spending your dollars on a computer instead of a console. This is correct.

You two seem to be saying the same thing: Sony’s console is overpriced for what it is, and a better experience can be had going with a pc.

Not exactly related to this article but, I looked this judge up on Ballotpedia, and found this funny little tidbit.

Judge Merchan handed the Trump Organization a $1.6M fine in that tax case a couple years ago. The District Attorney for Manhattan, Alvin Bragg, said:

What a head of cabbage. As if a couple million dollars is anything to these corporations. These fines need to be double digit percentages of revenue before they get viewed as anything other than a line item on the expense report.

Perhaps I’m misunderstanding but this appears to be a vote on what to provide administrative staff of the district for lunch. Not imposing it on anyone. From what I can tell, if someone on the council wanted a steak sandwich they would be welcome to fetch one themselves or pack in from home.

So even though the motion failed in this district, the members that were for it could still just… not have meat for lunch? Seems a small number of people to bother having a vote on, let alone people getting up in arms about it.

To add a touch of perspective, China has spent 70% more than the EU and the US combined on their renewable infrastructure.

It’s odd how politicians only seem to point out China’s current position of largest annual carbon emitter, and use that as an excuse not to lift a finger in the way of reducing domestic emissions. It goes entirely ignored that those numbers are a result of China being the world’s factory.

Despite this, they still have close to half the carbon emissions per capita compared to the runner up in annual carbon emissions - the United States of America - despite all that manufacturing.

Meanwhile, politicians galore will recite the findings of the same few scientists that it’s not the heat that’s the problem - cold is the true killer.
