How can you know if someone is a vegan? They’ll tell you

      Eh.

That’s the same about saying it about cross fit people

People notice others who have that trait/activity/whatever as a large part of their persona and associate it with them. If it’s not a large part of their persona, no one’s knows they have that trait/activity/whatever.

There’s lots of Vegans who never mention it, just like there’s lots of crossfitters who don’t.

But no one knows, so it doesn’t challenge their view that all of them are loud about it

No, because if someone that knows them, later finds out their vegan, its clear they don’t follow the stereotype because the other person didn’t know.

The only way people would immediately know, is if being vegan is such a large part of that person’s life they do something like reference it in their social media usernames.

Then they act surprised when people notice.

It was their decision it make veganism a central part of their online persona, every comment they make comes with a reminder to every person who reads it that they are a vegan. Maybe even some vaguely militant adjective to show that they’re “serious”

Maybe they forget that. And are genuinely surprised everyone keeps noticing.

          Does that make sense @KillerTofu?
